This year attendees will paint a mural on the Little Forks wall, between the first and second year murals. In addition to the art fair, the Art Seen Festival will be taking place in the Twice as Nice parking lot off of McDonald Street, between Main and Larkin. Twelve additional artists will be awarded a guaranteed invite into this winter and next summer’s art fairs.

All three will also be guaranteed to be placed in the fair next year. Best in Show will take $1,000, second place will receive $750 and third place $500. “There’s a lot of amazing young artists in the art scene here in Midland and we’re really excited to champion them.”Ī number of prizes will be awarded to artists during the fair. “They’re exceptional young artists who are making their way in the art world and I’m really excited to see all the very different styles of work put together,” she said. Some will be sharing booths as not all of them have an abundance of art to display. Thomas said these artists went through the jury process to be entered into the fair. Sponsors will pay for their booths so that they can share their art with the community. These are Midland artists that are just starting out in the industry. New this year will be vendors from the Midland Center Emerging Artists Program. “There is something for everybody,” Thomas said. Thomas said a majority of the artists will come from Midland, the Great Lakes Bay Region and across Michigan however, some artists will travel from out-of-state for the fair, including one from Florida.Īrt on display includes paintings, pottery, jewelry, ceramics, drawings, two-dimensional and three-dimensional multimedia, glass, sculptures and more.
